Lithium iodate (LilO3) crystal is a uniaxial nonlinear crystal with a high nonlinear coefficient and a wide optical transparency range from 0.5 μm to 5.0 μm. It is widely used in SHG of low and medium power Ti:Sapphire, Cr:LiSrAlF6 and Cr:LiCaAlF6 lasers.

LilO3 crystals are widely used in the SHG of low and medium power Ti:Sapphire, Cr:LiSrAlF6 and Cr:LiCaAlF6 lasers. SHG and THG from Nd:YAG lasers and autocorrelators can also be used to measure ultrashort pulse widths. In some cases, it is used in optical parametric oscillation to obtain continuously tunable lasers with wavelengths ranging from 0.9 μm to 1.2 μm. In addition to its nonlinear properties, the crystal has several properties that can be used as EO modulators, piezoelectric transducers, and more.
