Custom Polarisers

The polarization of light is absolutely critical for all optical applications. Numerous things can be impacted by polarization, including eliminating unwanted back reflection, altering the filter cutoff wavelength, and even altering the laser beam's focus. A specific polarization can be chosen or changed via polarized optical devices. In order to manage the polarization state of the incident light, Alfa Chemistry may offer a number of optical components. These components can either filter out all but one polarization state or change the present polarization state. In the IR, UV, and visible spectral regions, we can tailor a wide choice of polarization cube beam splitters, waveplates, and linear polarizers. You may find any polarizer you require here!

Our Capabilities

For a quick turnaround, Alfa Chemistry offers a large selection of linear and circular polarizers that can be customized in size. For increased stability, polymers can be laminated to or between glass and plastic substrates after being cut to size. Prior to use in your application, the protective film that is attached to both sides of every polarizer must be removed.

Typical polarization components include:

  • Linear polarizers.
  • Circular polarizers.
  • Fresnel rhomb retarders.
  • Polarization beam splitters will transmit P polarization and reflect S polarization.
  • Waveplates include quarter-wave and half-wave plates made from crystalline materials such as quartz and magnesium fluoride, depending on the wavelength of operation.
  • Achromatic waveplates are manufactured using two waveplates, typically quartz and magnesium fluoride, which allows the waveplate to be used over a wider range of wavelengths and can be applied with a transmission-enhancing film to optimize performance over a certain range.
  • Polarizing prisms, take advantage of the birefringence properties of certain crystalline materials, including calcite, quartz, and magnesium fluoride.
