Custom Optics

Alfa Chemistry provides customers in numerous industries with specialized optical customization services. We provide optical products for life science applications, medical devices, applications across the ultraviolet (UV), visible (VIS), and infrared (IR) spectrum regions using our broad optical production skills and experience. All optical custom product devices are meticulously constructed and examined in cleanroom settings and meet the environmental and quality standards required by the customer. Please get in touch with us for additional details on our optical customizing services.

Custom Precision Optics

When choosing Alfa Chemistry custom optics, customers can specify not only the perfect size to fit millimeters, but also choose custom substrates, optical coatings, and thicknesses. We can uniquely create bespoke components to satisfy criteria that can be smoothly integrated with your final application, whether the optics are used in the UV, VIS, IR, Near Infrared (NIR), or Far Infrared (FIR) spectrum. More significantly, we can quickly create a variety of optical components to fit your unique requirements thanks to our large inventory of optical parts.

Custom Optical Crystals

The majority of the crystals in our catalog may be produced and tailored to your requirements. In reality, when obtaining crystals from us, the majority of our clients have particular requirements for unique sizes, coatings, and other features. There is no minimum quantity of bespoke fabrications needed. Any work, no matter how big or small, is welcome. From a single prototype unit to scale manufacturing, we can handle any assignment.

Custom Coatings

We can also provide a variety of basic and advanced coatings for customer optics based on design requirements, including but not limited to single-layer MgF2 anti-reflective coatings, multi-layer antireflective coatings, multi-layer broadband antireflective coatings, partial reflective coatings (dielectric beam splitter coatings, metal broadband beam splitter coatings), and highly reflective coatings (specular, total reflection).

Optical Testing of Optical Components

In addition to custom optical products, we can also provide optical testing services for optical components. There are various types of optical testing: optical non-destructive testing (NDT), modified interferometric optical testing, optical time domain reflectometry, optical interferometry, and fiber optic measurement techniques.

  • Optical Nondestructive Testing (NDT)

NDT has attracted the attention of many workers because of its non-destructive imaging properties with high accuracy and sensitivity. Our NDT techniques include:

(1) Laser Scattering Interferometry and Scattering NDT - This is a two-step electronic scattering interferometry (ESPI) method;

(2) Infrared Thermal Imaging NDT - This is a technique that uses infrared light emitted by an object due to its thermal state to produce an image that has many advantages: it is fast; it provides non-contact, non-interactive, real-time measurements over large inspection areas over long distances;

(3) Terahertz (THz) NDT - This technique has many advantages over traditional NDT methods: resistance to electromagnetic interference; non-contact and real-time; higher sensitivity and resolution.

  • Interferometric Optical Testing

Optical interferometry provides extremely accurate measurements of distances, displacements, or shapes and surfaces of objects by using the phenomenon of light wave interference. Our interferometric optical measurement techniques include:

(1) Phase-shifted interferometry

(2) Phase-shifted single-shot interferometer technology

(3) Electronic Scattering Interferometer (ESPI) technology

(4) Single Feso interferometer technology
