Custom Condenser Lenses

Alfa Chemistry can provide custom condenser lenses in a variety of sizes and materials manufactured specifically for each customer and their needs. Our custom condenser lenses are typically flat and convex and are used to project light into a concentrated beam. The primary application of the condenser lenses is to provide high power illumination. Our highly skilled professionals test each product in our state-of-the-art metrology lab to ensure it meets standards. For more information about your needs for custom achromatic lenses, please contact our technical sales team.

Advantages and Uses of Custom Condenser Lenses

Our Capabilities

Alfa Chemistry offers custom condenser lenses tailored to customer specifications. Our broad selection of custom condenser lenses from fire-polished grades to large diameter plano-convex types. These lenses can be cut to specific diameters or enhanced optically by adding anti-reflective coatings. Optical materials are a key element of condenser lenses, which are typically made from common glass types. For custom condenser lenses, B270 glass and Borofloat glass are typical materials. Because of its exceptional resistance to thermal expansion, borofloat is perfect for use in high-intensity lighting. Other substances, including fused silica, can also be used to make lenses, depending on the application.

Below are examples of our standard manufacturing capabilities. Alternately, we may quickly modify our stock lenses to fit your unique custom specifications.

Applications:

Condenser lenses are typically used to gather light into a beam. Typical applications for custom condenser lenses are for lighting, projectors, automotive headlights, and microscope slides. Any imaging instrument, including microscopes, magnifiers, slide projectors, and telescopes, needs condenser lenses to function properly. The concept holds true for a wide range of radiations that go through optical conversion, including synchrotron optics, neutron radiation, and the electrons in electron microscopes.
