Custom AR VR Coating

The distinction between the real and digital worlds is becoming even hazier as the human activity gets more digital. Alfa Chemistry has developed coatings for optics requiring wide-angle augmented reality (AR) coatings or AR/virtual reality (VR) beam splitters with a range of standard or custom options applied to glass, crystal, or plastic substrates, in response to the market's explosive growth in AR and VR applications. We can develop the ideal coating solutions for the requirements of our customers' thanks to our coating design capability.

VR/AR Optical Coatings

AR Coatings

Alfa Chemistry is an expert in wide-angle transparency-improving films that were created especially for the distinctive market niche of AR. Our coating method has a strong track record of accuracy. We accurately create coatings at 50~60 degree angles using specialist coating equipment and the required technical knowledge. With the help of our unique coating procedure, low AR coatings on polycarbonate or other substrates can be created, as well as coating research for sensors.

Being that the coating is often applied to an exterior surface, durability is crucial. Alfa Chemistry's cleaning and deposition procedures have been refined to satisfy the most exacting environmental and durability testing specifications. We are prepared to accommodate your unique requirements using the measurement equipment we have on hand. A number of international standards have been examined to see if our coatings meet them.

AR Coatings

Beamsplitters

For head-mounted devices, we have created a range of beam splitters that divide the display light and send it to each eye separately. Our coating designs and materials provide low scattering and high efficiency that help to minimize the initial intensity needed and extend battery life. The beamsplitting ratio can range from a few percent to 50/50 in VR and AR applications, and is commonly specified as the average polarization in the visible spectrum.

In order to maintain neutral or equal transmittance across the whole wavelength range, coated beamsplitters face a hurdle. The relative efficiency varies as you move away from the coating's central wavelength in a conventional beamsplitter coating design. The color in the VR display will vary between the two channels if there is any imbalance in the beamsplitter ratio vs wavelength. Therefore, we use a number of coating processes to determine the best approach for each application as we improve our designs to provide uniform efficiency for each channel over the required CHA's wavelength range.

Coating Engineering

The core of Alfa Chemistry's skills is optical coating engineering, which addresses the various and changing needs of VR, AR, and mixed reality technologies like many other sectors do. We possess the expertise, systems, and tools necessary to adapt and provide high-caliber solutions with dependable performance. We can supply you with a range of alternatives using the Ebeam, IBS, and IAD technologies in order to find the optimum solution for you. We have also looked into materials created by magnetron sputtering, thermal evaporation, and electron beam evaporation.
